what to do about duplicate icons in customizing ribbon

When adding icons to the ribbon, some commands do not have an icon and
therefore show up as a green globe. There can be duplicate green globes,
which defeats the purpose of placing an icon on the ribbon. Can the green
globes be replaced with different icons?
