What triggers autotext?

We have an application that will automatically create standard letters,
and open Word to display them for final editing.
The documents are based on premade templates (.dot).

However we are being bugged by autotext replacing parts of the text in
our docs. For instance, I is replaced with "In reply to".

Why does autoext automatically trigger like this?
How can we prevent this, does anyone know?

Thanks for any hints.
Cheers,
Anders :)

Autotext only triggers when I type four letters of the entry. Eg, "ladi" of
"Ladies and gentlemen".

When I type "i" the box with the yellow background appears with the text
that will be entered if the next key I press is "enter."

Just stopping at "i" and then saving the doct and opening it again was not
sufficient to trigger the autotext, so just opening it up does not appear to
be a trigger.

If it appears to just trigger spontaneously for you, I have no idea what is
actually causing that.

have you looked in Tools, Autocorrect, maybe you have it set to replace
I with "in reply to" ?
does this happen every time you type "I" ? i can see that being a
problem if you were typing in the first person!

Thanks guys.
As Richard points out.. it's supposed to enter the text, only if you
hit enter.
Now, I don't hit enter, the text is stored in a template, and the
replacement
of text is done when the template is opened by the application, before
any
user interaction.

Something along the way there triggers it, but I don't know what..

Cheers,
Anders :)
