Since eps files cannot be inserted into Word documents, are there any formats
pother than jpg that can be used so that the print outs are hi-res without
the pixilation.

Why can't EPS files be inserted into a Word document? I wish someone had
told me that sooner - I've been doing it for years :)

The article refers specifically to 2003, but 2007 accepts the same types.

As an alternative for photos you might consider TIFF, and for vector
graphics it depends on the nature & composition of the artwork.

Since eps files cannot be inserted into Word documents,

During installation, you can choose graphic filters to install or not --
maybe your install left off EPS.
