What type of movies can I add to powerpoint slide shows?

I've tried Adding .WMV but it doesn't want to let me.

Does it have to be MPEG?

What happens if the videos that I want to show are in .wmv, how can I
convert them?

PLease help me, I need to make a presentation soon, and I'm getting scared
that I won't be able to show all the relevent bits and bobs

Hi Daniel,

In Macintosh PowerPoint you can add any format that is supported by
QuickTime. PowerPoint gives QuickTime the job of displaying movie files.
