I work for a government agency and am responsible for tracking
software. We have a certain number of Visio 2000 pro licenses, and
some that are just standard - technical? I don't know, they just are
not pro. Previous person wrote down standard. They have not been
upgraded to the MS version. Matter of money.
So I have to verify how many pro and how many not-pro are installed on
our agency machines to see if we are in compliance. (Which we
probably are cause I think we have more licenses than installed). But
that may change, as more people want to use the software.
So, how do I tell? when I go to the Program files and click on the
application, I see that the version is 6.0.0.1245. Some say 6.0a.
Some say 6.0.1245. The technical guys say the only difference between
pro and standard were the network templates. But I don't want to go
around from machine to machine logging on, opening up the program, and
looking at templates. No, I want to remotely connect and look at the
program files. So, what do I look for?
