What version of SQL 2005?

I am a single contract developer, and just getting into SQL Server. What
version should I get? My operating system is Windows XP Pro, and My computer
has a couple gigs RAM.

Any advice is appreciated.

For what purpose? For your develping/testing as database server, or for a
specific database application?

For the former, you can get the most for $50 with SQL Server Developer
Edition, which is functionally equivalent to SQL Server2005 Enterprise
Edition. (However, I am not sure the $50 deal is still available or not). Or
you can download free version of SQL Server2005: SQL Server Express or SQL
Server Express Advanced Edition.

For the latter, it would depends the application itself.
