What's happened to Help?

Once upon a time, when you accessed Help from the
toolbar, you would get help from a help file that came
with the application. Now (Word 2003), I get put through
to Office Online. This would be OK, except most of the
links returned in a search on Office Online don't work (I
click & nothing happens).

Two questions:

(i) Is there still a help function that doesn't require
you to be connected to Office Online?

(ii) Why do the links not work?

In the Help Task Pane, under See Also, click Online Content Settings. In
Service Options, set Category to Online Content. Under Online Content
Settings, remove the check next to Show content and links from Microsoft
Office Online.

Now, you'll get "local" help.
