I'm ready to move from the Trial version of MS Office to the Production
version, but I've never been comfortable without a CD to "reload" if
necessary. Downloading from the Internet will not provide that comfort at
all, and I'm thinking of getting the software from a reputable national
dealer.

Will the "upgrade" CD version of the software provide the "full" version (so
as to "start from scratch") or just something that builds on existing
"remnants" of what might have once been there?

I'd like to do this ASAP, so I'd appreciate an answer from someone who has
downloaded from the Internet or (more importantly) someone who has bought an
"upgrade package" who might know if I'd be able to "start from scratch."

Thanks,

To use an upgrade disk, you would need a prior qualifying version. The
trial does not qualify.

I suggest that you purchase from Amazon.com if you can - they have great
prices and free shipping.

To use an upgrade disk, you do not need to have the qualifying product
installed, just pop your upgrade disk out of the CD drive, put in your
qualifying product, and when the installation okays it, take out the CD and
put in your upgrade disk and continue installation.

Do NOT lose or discard the qualifying product, as it will be required each
time you install anew.

You can only use an Upgrade version if you have a qualifying product. The Trial of
Office is not a qualifying product.
You will need to purchase a full version of Office.
I am not a bog fan of downloading from the internet because too many things can go
wrong. Go to a Retailer and see where you can purchase the product and receive the
box version with your purchase.
I cannot tell you where since I am here in Canada at present. Office Depot ,Amazon
or any honest retailer would be the best choice.
Aside from getting the activation keys you will also have the media for future use
when needed

Peter, many thanks,

I do have my original CD and you've answered my question perfectly. I
really appreciate you taking the time to explain my options and I'm headed to
one of the national retailers to pick up a copy of the update.

You showed a good appreciation of the problem, again, thank you. If you'd
like some feedback later today (after I pick up the update), just let me know.

That is great BUT do you have a qualifying product for the Office Upgrade that you
are running out to purchase.
As Milly also said . That with an Upgrade version of Office you will need to pop in
your qualifying product when asked.
Which qualifying Office product do you have
