Hi, I am using PS2007+PWA. I have a resource left with bunch of uncompleted
task assignments in several projects. Should I remove him from resources list
or just block his PWA access? How to deal with his uncompleted tasks?
Could you share me your best practice?

Thanks in advance,

Jjin,

that depends if the tasks are completed, if the tasks are completed make
sure that the remaining work is set to 0. This will make the task completed
and therefore will disapear from the My task page.

If the task is not completed and you need a new resource on the task, you
will need to assing the new resources and replace the remaining work of the
first resource to the new resource.
Hope this is what you are after

Require your project managers to replace this resource on any tasks that are
unstarted or in-progress but incomplete. They need to add a new resource to
their project teams, or assign an existing resource to take over the
uncompleted work. I recommend that they use the Assign Resources dialog,
and use the Replace button. By doing this, the system will leave the
original resource on any in-progress tasks for to show the resources
historical Actual Work, but will transfer all of the Remaining Work to the
new resource. After you have confirmed with your project managers that they
have followed this recommendation, and that the resource in question has no
Remaining Work on any task in any project, you can set the resource to
Inactive. If any of your resources tell you that they are seeing a warning
dialog about Remaining Work assigned to an Inactive resource, then you know
they did not do what you asked them to do! :) Hope this helps.

This is a very helpful thread.

When is it advantageous to actually delete a resource? We have a number of
inactive resources and I wonder about the tipping point to deletion, in
managing.

Also, I noticed that "Load Summary Resources" option has been referenced to
uncheck to resolve some message about inactive resources. We're caught up to
August 2009 CU so is this still an option we need to utilize, or did the
later fixes after SP 2 resolve the issue?

Thanks...
