what's the best way to depict a bell curve?

I want to depict a smooth bell curve . . . not a pyramid-shaped line. I
suppose one way would be to increase the number of data points, but I don't
want to do that. Am I missing something simple?

The simple things that you are missing are to tell us:
a what you've tried and
b why you are reluctant to use a few extra data points.

Hi,

Maybe - select the line and choose Format, Selected Data Series, and click
Smoothed line on the Patterns tab.
