What's the difference with dotted lines and solid lines in an org.

I am preparing a WW Finance Organization Chart for the CFO of a huge company.
I have never done this before I understand what it is but I want to be sure I
do it correct. This is for 5 regions world wide. Please advise.

You are using Visio 2003, right?

The dotted line connector is to support a position reporting to two
different managers. The rule is: use the regular connector unless you want
to have a person report to two managers.
