For anyone who has been reading the postings on this site it is abundantly clear that there is clearly an enormous problem with Office XP update SP-3... What is being done to provide a proper solution

*You* are a moron. You've asked this at least twice already. What in Hades
has it got to do with Milly?! She does not work for - nor has any
affiliation with - Microsoft. If she did, she wouldn't be a MVP.

Now leave her alone. She can't assist you any more than anyone else here
can. You want to know - ask MS yourself!

Well cerridwen, I have asked MS via PAID FOR SUPPORT and received a refusal
to assist.

So whilst Milly may not know DOES SOMEONE know, and if so will they share
that information with the rest of us poor souls.

Nothing! there is no obligation whatsoever on M$'s part to provide a proper solution. No wonder many knowledgeable IT guys have not installed this yet. One should always test M$ products before buying or downloading.

All Microsoft's products are a problem. Those days of simple installation are gone forever. One now needs to activate products and if you reformat your hard disk often then tough luck. You will have to wait in a telephone queue for an operator to help you.

What will happen when the products are retired? God knows. Perhaps people have to buy new BIG ones even if they don't need new functions or will have to live without Microsoft. There is no chance of a Windows Lite or Office Lite versions for novices.

Is your version of Office an OEM version? If yes, then your best bet to
find a solution (I do not know since I am not running Office XP, any SP
level) is to search Google groups.

My version of Office is a genuine retail upgrade version of OFFICE XP PRO
together with the upgrade retail version of MS FRONTPAGE 2003 installed on a
retail upgrade version of WIN XP PRO.

Purchased at reputable retail store with all paperwork, all fully registered
with MS.

Any other reason you can think of why MS refused to help resolve SP3
problems via paid for support.

A search on Google produces literally 1,000's of post reporting problms, one
resolution which is drastic - reformat, reinstall without SP3 - find old
archive of *.inc files and add them back into new install.... etc
