Wheel Mouse action in Access97

When navigating through records in a form, actuating the
wheel on my Logitech Optical Mouse (even just one click)
causes the focus to traverse each of the displayed fields.
The next record is loaded and the same thing happens.
This repeats until the last record is found.
With a large database this is annoying and not what I want.

This does not happen if I am in a datasheet view, only in
forms.

The workaround is to not fiddle nervously with the mouse
wheel, of course, but I would like a better fix.

Does anybody here recognize this behavoir and can point me
to a solution
