when a floppy was really floppy

I am sitting here... frustrated and confused with my website and realizing
how much work it takes to make a program run smooth and make a website
perfect....

and I had a memory of 7th grade computer class....... when a floopy disk
looked FLOPPY!

I remember using up 45 minutes in that class and getting an A for the day
for writing an entire program that made a small green dot flash in the
middle of the screen and then JUMP to the top right corner.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with anything... and I know I just Dated
Myself, and I am a total FP newbie... but I had to share!

You're not dating yourself... when I was in the 7th grade and later taught
7th grade for 20 years computers weren't known. I got my first computer when
Windows 3.0 came out and that seems like a century ago!!

And the little triangle (or I think it was a mouse) would draw a nice pretty square. Ahh, the good
old days...

called Infocom that came on cassette and took about 30 minutes (literally)
to load. It was entirely text-based and you gave orders to 5 (I believe)
robots to travel around a complex and describe what they saw to you. Each
had a special sense that made it describe things a bit differently than the
others. It came with a board map and "game" pieces that you placed on the
map to keep track of where each robot was.

Boy have times changed!
