When creating a formula in a table,

When I create a formula in a table, i get the formula repeated not the actual
answer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and unanble to
resolve issue, also when i create a footer with the date i don't get the date.

Toggle off View Field Codes either using F9 or under Tools, Options, View
tab.
