for their products?
Example Outlook suddenly had a corrupt file and would notopen Outlook 2007
the product was purchased a year ago.
spent a day searching online help
then tried to find a contact number all charged over $50!!! for help
i had to down load a trial to keep my business going//
now i get imap mail unavailable pop up from windows...every 2 mins
when i finnallly got thru to a person they said they dont offer support for
trials
i said how about the one a bought a year ago ..(that where the corrupt file
started..can u help me fix that?) we charge if product over 90 days old.
so now i am screwed i am not paying to because there products always need
support and who has time in business to read and become a programmer..it was
tolerable being on the phone with india for and hour...but now being charged
to take there instructions find microsofts problem and fix it....crazy
I i have been a customer since the 90's

I am switching to mac..they might be just as bad..but i least i will know it
going in...u can bet i am going to ask..if they charge for support.
i am getting a mac

The deal is within the first 90 days of the first call, not of purchase or
install. According to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...~ProductList&ln=en-us&prid=10162&gprid=422192 -
90-day no-charge support begins on the following dates:
From the date you place your first support request.

provided you purchased a retail copy. But calling before trying to solve it
on your own (using google or posting here) is often a waste of time.

On imap errors, I would make sure the firewall or security software wasn't
updated and interfering with the connection and that the acct worked in
OE/Mail. Then I'd run office diagnostics (I'd do this first actually.)

for their products?

Microsoft software has 90 days of free support. I don't know of any
computer or software vendor that warrants its products for a year.
