Three possibilities: the most likely is that the user has set up file
locations using mapped drives pointing to your server. Change the settings
under Tools, Options, File Locations to use full UNC paths and not mapped
drive letters.

Second possibility is that the client PC needs cleaning up of abandoned temp
files. See http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm

Third possibility is that either SBS or the client's WinXP need patching up
to date.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
