When I click a hyperlink in a received email, it will not connect

When I receive an email that includes a hyperlink and I click on the
hyperlink, it will not automatically connect to the internet. It asks me to
open the file, I then find the explorer option, select it and get denied.
Help.

Is the dialog called Locate Link Browser? Then point it to IEXPLORE.EXE
