When I click on a hyperlink, it opens as a .exe file

I am unable to open hyperlinks in my Outlook email messages. When I click on
the link, it attempts to open it as an .exe file. The links used to open up
in Firefox, which is no longer working because I am on a work computer which
didn't allow Firefox to update and is therefore now disabled. However, I
can't figure out how to restore Explorer as my default broswer for my Outlook
email hyperlinks.
