When I click on my selectied clip art picture, it won't insert

Does anyone have any ideas why my clip art won't insert into a document?
It's worked for years and now suddenly when I click on the picture I've
selected, it won't insert.

Which Word versions, and what happens when you try?

..I'm using Office 2003l I can pull up the directory of Clip Art pictures,
scroll through them, and make a selection. However, when I click on the
picture I want, it is highlighted but does not insert into my document. What
do you think?

Assuming you are in print layout view, uncheck tools > options > view -
'picture placeholders' and check 'drawings'

Or if Graham's suggestion doesn't work, empty your Internet temporary cache. In
Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options, delete, delete files.

Okay, it's working in print view. Thanks. However, I can't get it to work
in normal view. I've got a Toshiba laptop with XP that will insert clip art
into both normal and print view. Is it just a variation of the programs? It
seems that I can do more with print view; for example, I am unable to flip
objects unless I'm in print view. Does that seem right? It's not a big deal
since I can usually accomplish what I want some way or another. I'm just
curious.

If the picture is inserted "in line with text" you'll be able to see it in
Normal view, but if it has any other text wrapping (so it's "floating") then it
will be visible only in Print Layout view.

You can set the default wrapping for inserted/pasted pictures in the Tools >
Options > Edit dialog.
