When I copy from a web page and paste in Word, Word freezes - WHY

When I copy text from a web page (ctrl c) and paste in Word (ctrl v), Word
freezes.
When I use paste as unformatted text (from the pull down menu) there is no
problem.
Unfortuneately, I often forget that Word has this bug and forget to use the
paste as unformatted text.

I found one posting that stated this was because word gets confused trying
to copy all of the HTML code.

Three questions:
1) Is there a fix to this bug?
2) Is there a macro to replace (ctrl v) to see if the item to be pasted is
HTML and ask if you really want to do that (and then paste as unformatted
text)?
3) Is there a way to stop the paste once things have frozen without losing
all of the work?

If you are copying large amounts, try copying smaller amounts. You can also
use a macro:

Make the toolbar button a bright color and put it right next to your
clipboard button so you can't miss it.
