WHen i open my template, it's just a bunch of gibberish

I'm trying to download a resume template.
After I downloaded and extracted it, I opened it,
And a window pops up that says: File Conversion

It tells me:
"select the encoding that makes your document readable"
"text encoding:
__ Windows (default) __ MS-DOS __ Other encoding"

I clicked "okay" for each option but every time Microsoft Word opens, I see
a bunch of gibberish.

Help would be throughly appreciated!

Its on this Microsoft website. Lets see. Click Templates, Resumes, Basic then
click "Resume (Median Theme)". Its the third one down! =D

That template is for Word 2007. If you don't have Word 2007, or the Office
2007 Compatibility Pack installed, you can't use it.
