Are you sure you do not have an option checked that will shrink to fit
your paper? Most all printers have a dead zone around the edge of the
sheet plus your document had a margin around the edge. The combination
of these two can easily result in the 8-1/2" wide "page" being shrunk to
fit within an 8" printable width (similar reduction on height). This
makes everything smaller.
The setting would be someplace in the printer properties
