I have Office 2008 for Students and whenever I save a document or powerpoint doc to my desktop it creates a folder named like the document and in it are some strange items. The document is created outside the folder. How do I stop this from happening? I called the company help line and the guy couldnt figure it out either. If I save to the document folder, it doesnt create a folder.

You most likely have your browser set to save downloads to the Desktop &
have StuffIt Expander automatically unzip/unstuff anything saved to that
"folder". As a result your OXML files are being unzipped on save.

Quit saving to the Desktop in the first place. Create Folders to keep your
work organized & you shouldn't have the problem :)
