When I send word 2003 doc.(upload) it appears with a binary code,

I upload a Word Document from Word 2003, it appears upon arrival in the
middle of the screen inside a 1/4 size window as ,what appears to be binary
code. The language selection on my last attempt to upload, auto chose
"Chineese".
What can be done to fix this problem. I am taking an online University
degree course and this is quite frustrating to me , and professors on
deadline time schedules.
Please reply asap.

Close your Word file before you try to upload it. Your online
university should have provided you with instructions for
uploading files to their web server or ftp server. Read the
upload instructions. Follow the upload instructions.
