When I start Word, Excel, or Outlook,they just stop, why?

When I start my outlook program it just stops responding. it hangs up. is
there any type of fix for this? i am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 SP2.
I have a dell computet inspiron b130 with microsoft xp SP 2 version 2002
home edition. plenty of ram too. any help would be greatly appreciated.
