When I type an email message the text does not appear on my scree

When I type an email messasge the message text does not appear on my monitor
though the "To" and "Subject" boxes do show text when I fill in these boxes.

In order for me to show text I must click the font color box and select a
color. Everytime I type a new email message the text does not show in the
messasge box. I must always click the font color box and select a new color
before typing message text for it to show on the monitor.

How do I get the message text to show without first always having to click
and select a font color?.

Did you perhaps configure Outlook to use a default font which uses white (on
a white background)? Are you using stationery?

The answer to both questions is no. I did not configure white as a default
font. I do not use stationary. How can I find out if someone else did this
to my computer who may have had access to it?

Look at the font settings in Outlook to determine what font color and
background color you are using (the background color should already be
obvious). Look at the stationery setting to see if you are selecting one by
default when composing new mails.

When you start typing in the body of the message, type a line of characters
and then hit Ctrl+A to select everything. Do you see your text after
selecting it all?

Which was it? The font color or the stationery?

It was both. The font color was set to automatic. I have now set it to
black and it works perfectly.

As to stationary it had been set to blank. That was not a good idea. When
it was set to blank I had additional lpropblems that I didn't want to bother
you with. If I typed a long message in Word - copied it - and tried to paste
it into a new Outlook message - I would get gibberish on the screen. If I
typed a lengthy new email message in Outlook, and then tried to change the
font before sending it, I would get all sorts of smudge on the monitor so
that I couldn't read the message. However it would transmit ok. Anyway
since I have changed stationary from blank to none these problems have
disappeared.

I am a lawyer and use email constantly. Therefore these problems impacted
severely upon me. You were great. You promptly pinpointed the areas
