Is this happening only in Word, or also in other programs (such as Notepad)?

If only in Word, then something has modified your default word installation to
remap the key. This might be a program, or it could have something to do with
language and keyboard settings. Which version of Word and which version of
Windows do you have?

If I play around with the keys F Lock, number lock, and ctrl, alt, etc....I
can correct this - only problem is....I dont know what i did to change this.
It is frustrating to say the least.

Unforunately, we can't look over your shoulder. So you have to put some effort into
trying our suggestions and answering our questions.

Even if you never use Notepad, if you have Windows, it's installed on your machine,
in the Accessories folder. Open it and test, please.

And please answer the questions I posed in my first answer.
