when I type the letters jump randomly whereever they want to go

sometimes when I type at normal speed the letters don't appear in the order i
type them but ump into different words or often just freeze or erase my work.
if i type very slowly i can get the text to come out right but even that
doesn't always work. this happens in word, excel, email, everything i do.
