When I use Save as Office hangs 10-20 seconds

Hello
I use Office 2003 SP 1. When I use File Menue Option Save as and click on
the arrow beside the pull down menue or the folder symbol to get one folder
level up the system completely freeze for 10-20 seconds.
Then appear the pulldown menue and I can choose new disc or I come to the
folder one level up. Every following click on one of the two symbols produce
the same result.

Can anybody told me what is the reason and how can I change it?
I know that in the past there was a problem with Windows 2000 and Save as
option (but for all programs not only for Office). For Windows 2000 MS
offers a hotfix to solve the problem. Is there any hotfix for Office 2003? I
take a look into the Knowledge base but don´t find anything!

Thomas, I have the same problem. if I use the drop down box in either save as
or open, I wat 3 minutes for the list to respond. I haven't found an answer
yet and several people in my company have the same problem. All my service
packs are current.

Try disconnecting any mapped network drives that are not currently
available.
