Could someone help me, in terms a computer illiterate person can handle, how
to fix my word 2003 so that my files will come up. My 14 year old is going to
try but I need reliable help. Could it have anything to do with the error
"Java Virtual Machine Launcher cannot find main class program and will exit?"

I don't believe the "file not available" error message is related to the
"Java Virtual Machine" error message.

For the former, disable the Office Plugin that comes with
Symantec/Norton AntiVirus... see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office programs
with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more information.

For the latter, you should ask in a newsgroup for your version of
Windows, which you don't say.

Hey...these days 14 yr olds are pretty reliable PC supporters!<smile>

I doubt the JVM has anything to do with it since that's related to
Internet Explorer in all cases that I can think of.

However, just saying that you can't get your saved files to "come up"
doesn't tell me very much. It may be as simple as the fact that you
saved them to a different folder. Or it may be as serious as corrupt
files.

So you'll need to provide us with some more complete details about
what EXACTLY you are doing, what happens when you do what you do and
what you are trying to do. Include any error message and describe what
you are seeing and where as you move through the steps you take in
whatever actions you're doing.

Hopefully, with more complete details, we can help you figure out
what's wrong.
