When merge "title", December 28, 1999 comes up

Another question, if I could. I have Word 2003 (XP) and am
trying to do a rather complicated mail merge (lots of
logic with nested ifs). I'm downloading a file from the
web application, Donor Perfect, that is in .csv format.

Whenever I try to merge in the field "title", "December
28, 1999" comes up . I finally found some way to avoid it
(no idea how - I just tried everything and suddenly it
started working) but I need to go back and ask if the
field is blank (to eliminate the space when there is no
title)and the December 28 date is back. The field in
the .CSV file is not defined as a date or a number. It
also doesn't work if I make the file .xls.

Thank you. This stuff can get to one..... If only it
worked as documented!

If you want to send me the document and part of the datafile, I will take a
look at it. Can't do anything without that though.

Doug - just tried to send all the files to your email and
it was rejected with a "Sorry, I couldn't find any host
named NOmvpsSPAM.org". Is there another way I can send the
files to you? Martha ([email protected])
