When opening word2002 or exel 2002 sheet it freezes

Hi

Have office XP, windows XP pro, latest service packs.
When opening a word or exel document from the file/Open
menu and select previous documents opened at the bottom
of the menu the first time it takes forever and freezes
the machine while waiting, after that it will open OK.

If the PC is being used on a network you could get this
type of problem if DNS\Active Directory isn't working
properly. If it's not on a network it could be virus
scanner related.

Cause both Microsoft and Virus scanning software co.s have
full deniability...!
