When print everything after " or ' turns out bold?

I believe I'm using Microsoft publisher 2003 and im making a newsletter type thing. It is in arial 12pt font and its bolded... but when I go to print it the words that come after an "'s" and such are like bolded twice or look bolded compared to the rest. ON the screen though it doesn't look like this.. what's going on? how do I fix this? I checked and it said no macros were on.
