When Publishing a project I recieve Spooler error code.

When I import a project into PS I recieve system error 0x80004005 Why am I
getting this error?

Are you using the Import Wizard? And are you allowing Local Resources to
remain in your project?

Local resources always cause a spooler error when a project is published,
because Server does not know where to send the assignment information.

I am using the import wizard. And there are no resources in the projects yet.
I don't add them until after it has been imported.

Just a thought: Are you on a WAN? Your network admins may not have
allocated enough bandwidth, causing your operation to timeout.

I think it may have something to do with the auto creation of sharepoint
sites. All of a sudden PS will not automattically create a sharepoint site
for the projects when published to PS. Maybe that is what the error is
referenccing. But I can go in and create a site maually with no problem.

That could be a major clue!

What version of PS are you using. If it is not 2K3 SP-1, I have an idea.

Your subject line and post are in direct conflict with each other. One says
Import, one says publish? Anybody attempting to answer this question would
need to know that first. Next we'd need to know where you're seeing the
error? Is it the spooler? If so, can you tell us if you also see errors in
the application event log on the server?

This is when I am trying to publish a project. It does not auto create the
sharepoint site. But I can create it manually. When I publish a project I get
the a system error in the PS spooler 0x80004005 and below is what shows up in
the event log on the server:

Doe this happen only for one project or all projects?

In my previous post if you notice it is looking for a file called
msghandler.cpp that is located on C:\office There is no path on my server
of that nature. PS is installed on the D:\ drive and there is not path like
D:\office there either. What is this nsghandler.cpp that it is looking for

It's an internal alias, not a physical location. How about my last question?

T

This happens with every project that I try to publish in and just all of a
sudden started happening when nothing has been changed that I am aware of.
All I have benn doing is modifying the glbal template for projects.

If you can verify with your network folks that they haven't made any
security policy changes, and given that you were making changes to the
Enterprise Global file just before this happened, restoring a backup of a
known-to-be-good global file might be your next try. Alternately, a full DB
restore might be a good strategy.
