when using office-tries to install again.

I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed. When I try to open any program
(Word, Excel, etc.) Office tries to install itself again. So I've tried to
remove Office. When I try to unstall, I get the following error message:

Error 1316. Setup cannot read from file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\PRO11.MSI.
Check your connection to teh network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential
solutions to this problem, see FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM.

How can I get rid of Office on my computer?

It's usually easier to go with the flow...let Office install what it's
trying to install.

Though, I forgot to mention that when I have let it install, it says, "A
fatal error occured during installation."
