When will app.config be supported for VS.Net InfoPath ??

When I create a VS.Net InfoPath project, it lets me add an "app.config" file
to the project. However, at runtime when I try to use
System.Configuration....AppSettings (same way I always do for app.config) the
values are null.

Is app.config not supported in VS.Net InfoPath projects? If not, any plans
to support it in near future?
