When will InfoPath offer change control?

K

Kathy

We use InfoPath to create documents and Web pages. It would save me hours of
work if we were able to set change control to indicate additions and changes
to the document as it is created. Is this something that InfoPath can
support or will it be released in the future?

Thanks!

Hey Kathy,
While nothing has been mentioned about this from the product team you can
replicate this funcationality to a degree,
I did this myself back in IP2003 by putting an "Updated" attributed on each
field in my form, then set this attribute to 1 when the field was updated.
I then used conditional formatting to highlight the text int he field red
when the field was updated.
While this is limited it does offer a level of chage tracking in the actual
form.

If your using InfoPath 2007 and SharePoint however you could always turn on
version control in the form library where the form is stored, this would not
only offer Change Contrrol but will also allow you to rollback changes as
needed.

Hope this helps

Cheers,
