When you delete an email from your delete folder does it reduce y.

I am currently using MS Outllok 2000 for my email. In the office the mailbox
size of each user is growing larger. I heard that when you delete an email
from your delete folder it does not reduce the size of your mailbox content.
Is this correct?

Thanks

I know it does reduce the size if your provider is Exchange--hence the
continuous reminders from exchange admin to delete old msgs. I expect
its the same if you use PST for storage.

You could try microsoft.public.outlook for a more definitive answer.
BCM doesn't store the mailbox.

it will in outlook - unless the 'white space' is over 20%, it won;t
automatically reduce the size - you'll need to compact the pst. Once there
is 20% white space, it will compact it automatically when the computer is
idle.
