When you make changes to a document

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Small lines print on the side after you make changes to the document. Why can't you delete those lines? It's not a border. It's like it's on default preference. How do you get rid of them?

It sounds like you have Track Changes on, and it is showing the change
lines.

Option 1--You can keep Tracking Changes, but turn the lines off via Word
| Preferences | Tracking Changes.

Option 2--or you can stop Tracking Changes and Accept All Changes to get
rid of the tracked changes that you accidentally created. Both functions
are found via View | Toolbars | Reviewing.
