Whenever I open 2 word files, it locks the text.

Hi all,

Since I have upgraded from Word2000 to WordXP to fix a
issue, I have come upon another bigger issue. The
problem is when I open 1 word file, leave this word file
open, and open a second word file, I can no longer move
the cursor to another point with the mouse. I have to
use the arrow keys. This means that I can no longer
click and highlight, but have to hold shift and highlight
using the arrow keys...As soon as I close both files and
just open one again I can highlight and do anything
again...Any ideas would greatly be appreciated...
