Where are my emails going?

In Outlook 2003, I can't see all of the emails that are downloading into
Outlook from my POP3 account (it's apears to be exactly the same problem
"tsexpress" recounts in a 3/21 post: "my pop account is not forwarding all
messages to outlook"...) The progress bar in Outlook showed the same number
of emails that were in my webmail account as had downloaded however, it was
only able to view emails from 3 different senders instead of what should have
been at least 40 senders. The only change that I can closely map to this
event is I took a Microsoft tutorial last week on configuring personal
folders. When I search the contents of all folders, my emails are missing. I
know they're here but I dont know how to get to them!

Do you have any rules? Do the messages appear in the Unread Mail Search
Folder?

No rules have been esablished. I verified this by clicking on the Rules and
Alerts button. There is no content in the view pane. What next?

New computer. "Ad-Aware SE" spyware installed prior to going online. A check
of the log shows no viruses present.

Part II: Only 2 messages in the Unread Mail Search folder. The messages are
not visible in any folder.

I doubt it's a virus. Besides Ad-Aware doesn't detect viruses.

What folder does the Unread Mail folder say they're in?
