where are my functions?

In Mac for Excel, which I just bought, there's no place in the toolbar
that shows the contents of a particular cell. When I see #REF in the
cell, I want to know what's IN the cell in order to fix the
reference? Is there a specific toolbar for that?

Thanks,

If the formula box in the formula bar has something like

=#REF!

then the referenced cell(s) have been deleted, and you can't get the
reference back.

The other option is that the cell refers to a non-existent reference,
e.g.:

=Sheet11!A2

where Sheet11 doesn't exist within the workbook.

I think that's the problem - sounds like the Formula Bar isn't displayed:)

Rolfe - The first place to check is the View Menu to make sure there Formula
Bar is selected. That should fix it.

If it is already checked & the Formula Bar still doesn't display hunt around
a bit as it may be at least partially covered by another toolbar. If you're
sure it isn't there come back & let us know.

In the meantime, you can view the cell content directly in the cell if you
double-click the cell.
