Hello All,
I have a some what of a 'difficult' question (or two). I'll try to make my
inquiries as plain but detailed as possible so here goes (Thanks in advance
for reading)
In my (now former) profile - I had Outlook running (on a home computer so no
Exchange Server connectivity) and something caused my Outlook to stop running
properly. I'm pretty tech savy so I went through my 'usua' methods of
diagnosis - I Googled the error, went to Support.Microsoft.com, checked the
Event Logs, etc. but couldn't find what was causing my Oulook not to open
properly. The message was the
following: "unable to open your default e-mail folders. The server is not
available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists". Well to
make a long troubleshooting story short - I was able to determine that my
profile was corrupted somehow and was not allowing Outlook to open properly.
So I created a new profile and copied over everything from my previous
profile (mostly - I'd say like...95%) and am having no problems (knock on
wood) so far.
NOW here comes the conundrum - though my .pst was in tack from my previous
Outlook and all of my messages, contacts, etc. was there - I wasn't able to
export my rules or any of the Safe/Blocked Senders listings so that I can
reimport them into the new profile. SO where in the registry to I find these
listings so that I can export them and then reimport them into the new
profile? The reason why I say that is as I said earlier - I copied over 95%
of the folders/files from my old profile to my new profile (the remaining 5%
were folders or temp files that had no relevance to Outlook or anything else
for that matter).
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
