Where are the add-ins listed?

Jonathan

After a lot of searching in this forum and within OneNote I can't find where
the current ON2007 add-ins will be shown. Someone illuminate me?

I finally got down to the fun task of adding some PowerToys. Great stuff!
The template manager might be a big help to me in my elementary school
teaching.

Yes, there is a large number of most valuable PowerToys. Quite a number
of things are "must-have".

The place to find the goodies used to be the "OneNote PowerToys"
website.
It still is the main place for collecting the tools although it has not
been updated since December 2007.
Obviously the two guys (calling themselves "AdminID and Sid").who
run/ran the site are not active anymore.
I looked around but did not find a way to contact them.

So we are in the sad situation that the most important place for
PowerToys is getting outdated. AFAICS the community would need
volunteers to continue the good work for the community.

Apart from that you should not miss John Guinn's Blog.[1]

help - has been continually reported on PowerToys; recently he posted a
list of things from 2008.

Rainald, thank you. I had a different question: John or a respondent on his
blog *seemed* to refer to a add-in list that would be generated by OneNote
itself as a "report" of those added functions brought in as powertoys. Sort
of like the Extension list FireFox will make for a user.

I do visit the site you mention and was also wondering what happened. As a
teacher I visit the MS site a bit and wish I had more time to keep developing
the perfect system for OneNote.

I finally got around to installing Table of Contents, Sorting, and
TemplateManager. The last will be a big help with tracking information needed
while teaching ten-year-olds.

In OneNote 2007, click Tools | Options. There will be a tab to the left
named "Addins" that shows a list of enabled addins.

I hope this is what you are trying to find.

I'm awfully sorry for having totally misunderstood your question!
For a while I thought along the lines of "Tools > Extras > Add-ins" but
then - after re-thinking - it seemed to me that you would be thinking in
lost of available tools :-( :-(

ON is a really great application.
But for quite a number of task we just need a little bit if extras here
and some others there :) :)

I have a few more installed and use them daily <g>
Meanwhile I even managed to solve the really annoying problem of the
appearance of the PowerToys in the Toolbars and managing that.
In case you would be interested, I would post my recipe.

Have fun with ON

I do!

I would be interested in the recipe, AND the reason you found the toolbar
buttons to be a problem. I found that the buttons didn't appear until at
least one maybe two restarts (of the program). But perhaps you mean ongoing
problems?

BTW, I have been here in the forum from the days just before the beta(s) as
have you and you are a big help to so many forum visitors! Are you going to
write the "How to Use OneNote" book for German?

OK, I'll try to put it together.

Really?
Most interesting!

LOL

For sure I won't do that.
Meanwhile there is a book in German.
Not really good.
But I won't make it better :-( :-(

If you download the OneNote2007 Toolkit from the Microsoft website it has a
list and description of addins such as the table of contents power tool.

This (OneNote2007 Toolkit) is a great download for how to use OneNote, and
has good suggestions for teachers.

Seems a good idea.
Something like that.

Main thing who would make it and does the maintenance?
