Where are the connectors!!??

Hi all,

In Word for windows there's an Autoshape called "connectors" for
drawing arrows between flow chart elements. I can't seem to find this
in Word for Mac 2004. Any help would be appreciated since this tool was
very useful for me.

Cheers,

The lines button on the Drawing Toolbar produces some options with arrows
and double arrows. Or the same thing can be accessed under the Add Objects
pane of the Formatting Palette.

Is that what you are looking for, or different? Will it meet your needs
anyhow?

Nope, thats not it. Those are just basic lines. I was referring to
lines that "snap" to flow chart elements connecting centered lines from
one shape to another. If you have access to Office for Windows, go into
Autoshapes and you'll see the option fo connectors, and my description
will make more sense.

Weirdly enough, I was using Excel for Mac 2004, and this drawing option
was available there, but not on Word!

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Johnny,

I'd love to know what versions of Word for Windows has connectors. AFAIK
no version of Word has them.

The connectors are available from the AutoShapes menu on the drawing
toolbar of Excel and PowerPoint, but not Word. If you make them in Excel
or PPT they will be converted to lines instead of connectors if you try
to bring them into Word.

In Word2003, the connectors only work if the objects are in the "drawing layer"... which doesn't exist in Word2004.

Probably "there weren't enough ressources" to make them work for any kind of object (floating/inline).
Or updating the connectors every time Word reflows the text (and inline objects) would be too difficult.

Sorry, I forgot about the "Drawing Canvass." I detest it. Whenever I
use Word for Windows I always go to the preferences and turn it off.
