Where are things in Word 2007?

I recently upgraded from Word 2003 to 2007. After some searching I've been
able to find where most things moved, but there are a few I'm stuck on.
(1) How can I tell what style my current paragraph is using? I have
documents with dozens of created styles. I used to move the cursor into a
paragraph, look at the box in the upper left, and find my current style.
(2) How can I tell which section I'm in? It used to tell me in the bottom
left of the screen.
(3) How can I turn off word counting? I regularly load up hexadecimal
computer dumps of thousands of pages. There's no need for Word to be counting
words in those documents. Come to think of it, unless you're a student,
what's the use of it ever counting words in a document?

Although the interactive guide JoAnn pointed to does answer the question in the
subject line, it's restricted to the "things" that were in the menus in 2003. It
won't answer the specific questions you asked. So let me try...

I recently upgraded from Word 2003 to 2007. After some searching I've been

The style box you're used to seeing can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar.
Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize, set the category dropdown to All
commands, select the "Style" item in the list, and click the Add button.
(2) How can I tell which section I'm in? It used to tell me in the bottom
left of the screen.

Right-click the status bar (the technical name for the "bottom of the screen")
and check the Section item in the popup menu. While you're in there...
(3) How can I turn off word counting? I regularly load up hexadecimal
computer dumps of thousands of pages. There's no need for Word to be counting
words in those documents. Come to think of it, unless you're a student,
what's the use of it ever counting words in a document?

On the status bar popup menu, uncheck Word Count.
