where did all my contact info from outlook go?

when "IT" re imaged my computer from 2000, to XP, Outlook runs fine, but all
contact info, calendar entries etc are gone. found directory, but all files
now have the extension "old" after the file names. I really need that info
back. Any Idea on how to do this??thanks.
