Where did the emails go?

Sometimes when I answer an email from a website it throws me into Word. I've
always just sent it. Yesterday I discovered (long story) that they don't go
thru even though I never got an error messge. When I went into the Options in
Outlook Express, there was a setting for where to put sent mail. There was an
Outbox folder with 12 items in it. I ran a search but can't find any of the
folders listed there!

I did a search on the database and saw that Outlook Express was not my
default mail for Internet sites. So I changed it but get an error message now
because I'm not sure of the POP server, etc. (I now have a cable modem and
the settings are left over from my dial up provider.)

I can get around using Word to send in the future. My question is: is there
a way to get into that Outbox folder and see what's in it? Since nothing's
ever gone thru, I probably have duplicated most of it. I just want to be
sure. I checked the settings and all hidden files are supposed to show.

I am using Windows 98 (sorry but can't afford an upgrade at the moment) and
a cable modem. Any advice would be appreciated.

You're mixing things here. Outlook and Outlook Express are two distinct
applications. Which are you using?

So change them to your current provider. The providers Help pages will have
instructions. But first decide whether you want to use Outlook or Outlook
Express. If the former, post back here. If the latter, ask in an Outlook
Express newsgroup.
