You're making a big assumption there... Word doesn't write its own error
log. If you're lucky, there may be one or more entries in the Windows event
log.
To look, right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop and choose Manage.
In the left pane, under System Tools, expand the Event Viewer icon and click
the Application icon. Using the date and time of the error as a guide, look
through the list on the right for an error message that shows Word or Office
as the source. If you find one, double-click it to read the details -- which
may or may not be intelligible.
You might also look in the System section of Event Viewer, in case the error
was caused by a driver or service rather than an application.
